Processing "BIND8-like" statistics

I'm not sure what the best approach would be.  You can use the PPID field 
to find the PIDs of all child servers and use that to gather statistics.

What kind of statistics gathering are you doing?  Maybe there is another 
way NSD can provide support for this.
